A kerbset is a type of border that surrounds a gravestone, typically made of granite. It provides a decorative and protective element to the gravesite, adding to the overall aesthetic appeal.
The kerbset is often filled with rough glass chippings or smooth glass pebbles. These are available in a number of different colours and can chosen to contrast or compliment the granite colour. We have memorials in our showroom completed with chippings in different colours so you get an idea of what the completed memorial will look like.
Small inset pieces are often placed in the kerb surrounds. Adding an additional small book or heart can be a nice way for family members to add personal messages in addition to the more formal wording included on the upright memorial.
Using different colours of glass can create significant impact, particularly when used to create flags or to match lettering and design colours.
In some instances, having a plain cover slab protects the grave space without incurring significant extra costs.
